About

GlobusData was established in Chicago in 2001 as an IT consulting company. Our consultants worked for Sanford Bernstein, Alliance Capital, Mizuho Bank and several Healthcare companies. In addition, we have had many short-term (3-6 month) contracts. Almost all projects were based on the Microsoft platform.

In 2003-2005 we developed a new computer language, QueryXML. The language allows querying XML structure using SQL-like syntax. We developed C# and Java-based implementations of the language: qXML—and presented both language and implementation at several national and international conferences. In 2005 we postponed this project because XML and XSL standards were not finalized at the time, and it was difficult to predict what direction to follow.

At the same time we were working on geocoding (address mapping) software for the healthcare industry; we worked closely with the U.S. Census Bureau, Navtec and DataQuest. We created add-on for MS MapPoint; GlobusData is a Microsoft Office partner.

Since 2007 we started our new line of business—content management systems (CMS) development. Our choice is the widely accepted Open Source CMS: Drupal.
